Position: Nursing Scheduler, Full-Time, Days

Southbridge Care Homes is currently looking to add a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic Nursing Scheduler to our amazing home. Reporting to the Director of Care, the Nursing Scheduler at Southbridge (The Palace) will enhance effective management and perform administrative duties, reception operations, and scheduling duties within the Nursing Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical duties associated with the daily operation of the Nursing department.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, occupational health and safety, environment, and infection control.
- Assist with communication to Physicians for outstanding Physicals required by residents.
- Attend all nursing-related committee meetings and take meeting minutes.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from residents, families, and staff, triaging the inquiries accordingly.
- Maintain purchase orders and inventory controls related to the Nursing department.
- Ensure resident care supplies are distributed to all units weekly.
- Establish and confirm resident dental, specialist, hairdressing, and outside appointments.
- Coordinate transportation and schedules for residents' appointments (e.g., Dialysis).
- Input changes to staff schedules daily and present them to the Director of Care for approval; perform clerical duties and prepare reports as required; maintain resident records and files.
- Respond to absentee calls, identify replacement staff, and track all occurrences.
- Interpret collective agreements for clarification purposes.
- Organize Resident Files/Charts across all Home Areas, including admissions, discharges, or transfers.
- Prepare and post Nursing Department schedules as per contracts; maintain the daily nursing schedule, including making calls to staff.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-Secondary Certificate in Business, Office Administration, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role with knowledge of general office operations.
- Experience in staff scheduling.
- Experience in Long Term Care; familiarity with Point Click Care is an asset.
- Pleasant telephone manner with strong customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
