This is a hybrid role (home/client site/office) for Halifax, NS or Toronto, ON.

Being a Principal Delivery Manager at Kainos

As a Principal Delivery Manager at Kainos, you will be responsible for leading the delivery capability within our Digital Services business unit – driving high-quality outcomes across a portfolio of clientengagements. You’ll combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery leadership, ensuring our teams can perform at their best while enabling long-term customer success.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will be a trusted advisor and problem-solver, helping our clients achieve real business value through digital transformation.

In this role you will:

  • Provide delivery leadership. You will oversee multiple engagements, removing blockers and managing risks to ensure smooth delivery. Alight with client needs, business goals, and our strategic direction.
  • Drive commercial success. You will own project financials – from forecasting to profitability – ensuring delivery meets or exceeds commercial targets.
  • Foster strong client relationships. You will act as a strategic partner to your clients, helping them unlock value through digital solutions and ongoing transformation.
  • Champion innovation and improvement. You will inspire teams to innovate - in both technology and delivery - to increase efficiency, reduce complexity, and deliver better outcomes.
  • Develop and support delivery teams. You will mentor and guide a team of Delivery Managers. Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support their growth and development.
  • Ensure governance and assurance. You will uphold delivery quality, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and alignment with technical standards across all projects.

Your expertise:

  • Delivery leadership. You have a proven track record in leading complex, tech-driven projects using Agile methods. You know how to manage delivery across multiple streams and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Commercial acumen. You have a deep understanding of project dynamics, contract management, and financial forecasting - with experience in managing commercial success across multiple engagements.
  • Stakeholder management. You delivered tailored solutions for external customers - have worked in a client-supplier relationship (preferably consultancy).
  • Strategic mindset. You bring fresh thinking, anticipate trends, and translate strategy into action. You’re resilient under pressure and focused on long-term success.
  • People leadership. You have experience managing and mentoring teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and championing collaboration at every level.
  • Continuous improvement. You foster transparency, encourage feedback, and create environments where people feel supported to grow - and where delivery constantly evolves for the better.
