LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team in Prince George, BC (1669 Victoria St).

Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency, and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and better health outcomes. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a Part-Time Regular role working 20-37.5 hours per week with flexible shifts to maintain a healthy work/life balance. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories, offering opportunities to share knowledge, 24-hour medical support via our Medical Science team and Medical library, and the chance to mentor college and university student placements.

The position involves working 3 days per week, plus coverage for vacations, sick calls, training, and operational needs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen tests
  2. Performing, interpreting, and releasing results while maintaining patient confidentiality
  3. Identifying incidents and non-conformities, developing corrective actions, escalating issues, and driving continuous improvement
  4. Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology
  5. Participating in workflow and work organization problem-solving

We are seeking a Registered Technologist with CSMLS who can collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment while upholding safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. Candidates should have:

  • College diploma or university degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals
  • Good computer skills and knowledge
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and follow up on issues
  • Strict adherence to safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality standards

This is an in-person role.

Hiring Range: $32.99 - $40.70

The final salary will depend on experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.
