We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant on the path to a CPA certification to join our finance team. This role is highly focused on Revenue Recognition, Account Reconciliations, Accruals, Invoicing, and Advanced Excel Formulas, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of GAAP / IFRS principles, and a passion for process improvement in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition & Accounting Compliance:
- Ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with GAAP / IFRS and company policies.
- Review contracts and agreements to assess proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Perform monthly revenue calculations and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, identifying and resolving revenue-related discrepancies.
Account Reconciliations & Accruals:- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain accrual schedules, ensuring timely recording of expenses and liabilities.
- Identify discrepancies in financial statements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
- Ensure all adjusting journal entries related to revenue, accruals, and deferred revenue are correctly posted.
Invoicing & Accounts Receivable:- Process and review customer invoices, ensuring proper classification and alignment with contractual terms.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable (AR) aging, following up on outstanding balances.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
- Support AR process improvements and automation initiatives.
Advanced Excel & Financial Analysis:- Utilize advanced Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX / MATCH, SUMIFS, PivotTables, Macros, etc.) to analyze financial data and create insightful reports.
- Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting and revenue analysis.
- Assist in process automation and efficiency improvements using Excel and other financial tools.
Qualifications & Skills:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferred.
- Progress toward CPA certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in revenue recognition, general ledger, or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP / IFRS, financial reporting, and revenue recognition principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with experience in automation tools a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
