Job Description

Based in British Columbia, as an Accounts Manager, you will identify and develop new business opportunities while managing existing accounts across North America. You should understand your customers’ business, craft unique solutions, and promote Powell products and services broadly.

  • Lead sales prospect identification and development for Powell's product portfolio
  • Generate new and repeat sales of our products and services
  • Maintain relationships with current and potential clients
  • Deliver product presentations at customer sites, conferences, and exhibitions
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for sustainable growth
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to meet targets
  • Assist in implementing marketing plans and strategies
  • Review sales contracts and detailed equipment proposals
  • Identify and resolve client concerns or complaints
  • Maintain sales activity reports and adhere to department goals
  • Negotiate and clarify commercial and technical details
  • Provide feedback on product/service gaps to Product Management
  • Generate a 12-month sales forecast for assigned product lines
  • Familiarize with NEC, ANSI, and IEC power distribution standards
  • Travel to clients, including overnight travel (>50%)

Additional responsibilities include maintaining a professional appearance, managing sales representatives, and following company policies, safety rules, and regulations.

Core Competencies
  • Knowledge of electrical products and applications
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, computer, and planning skills
  • Ability to learn and apply product solutions
  • Develop and deliver product presentations
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • 0-5 years experience in engineering, technical sales, or marketing
  • Knowledge of MV/LV Switchgear & MCC technology and market landscape
Working Conditions
  • Temperature-controlled environment, some outdoor activities
  • Office setting with local travel, some regional and extended travel required
Physical Requirements
  • Maintain body balance and agility
  • Bend, stand, walk, and speak for long periods
  • Use fingers and palms for typing and pressure application
