Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in lead qualification, business development, or sales management.
- Proven experience managing a team of business development representatives or inside sales professionals.
- Expertise in CRM platforms and lead qualification tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar.
- Strong understanding of modern sales and business development processes, including inbound/outbound marketing strategies and pipeline management.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in SaaS, technology, or a high-growth industry.
- Familiarity with lead scoring, predictive analytics, and AI-powered tools for lead management.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and foster collaboration between sales, marketing, and operations teams.
Description of Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Development Manager to lead and develop our team of Business Development Representatives. This role is critical to our business development success, ensuring efficient, data-driven lead development aligned with our growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern business development processes, tools, systems, and a proven track record of managing teams and optimizing strategies.
- Lead the Business Development Team: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives to ensure top-tier performance in lead activities.
- Process Optimization: Implement, refine, and optimize the lead development process for effective nurturing, qualification, and handoff to sales.
- Tools and Systems Management: Leverage CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), lead management software, and BI tools to streamline processes and improve conversion rates.
- Collaboration with Sales and Marketing: Work closely with these teams to align on lead nurturing, development processes, and handoff.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics to measure effectiveness, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
- Training and Development: Conduct ongoing training to keep the team updated on best practices and tools.
- Performance Metrics: Set and track KPIs, analyze results, and continuously improve efficiency.
- Lead Nurturing & Scoring: Oversee development and implementation of nurturing campaigns and scoring models to prioritize outreach.
