Job description

The role of the Data Analyst is to assign numerical values to key business functions to assess and compare performance over time. The job involves analyzing data to enable informed decision-making within the organization.

This is an in-person role at our office in Victoria, BC.

What You'll Do

1. Leverage data to support our business:
2. Work with business users and technical staff to identify opportunities for improvement
3. Create reports for internal teams and external clients
4. Collaborate to collect, process, and analyze data
5. Implement interactive visual reports using Tableau
6. Establish KPIs to measure decision effectiveness
7. Structure large data sets to extract usable information
8. Document business logic with team members
9. Create presentations and reports based on findings

Manage Data Analytics

1. Manage master data and metadata, including updates and deletions
2. Control access to data and reports
3. Ensure quality assurance of imported data
4. Handle commissioning and decommissioning of data sets
5. Process confidential data according to guidelines

All Things Reports

1. Develop reports and analyses
2. Design and manage the reporting environment, including data sources and security
3. Support data warehouse reporting requirements and data flows
4. Maintain data integrity and normalization initiatives
5. Test and implement new software or upgrades
6. Generate reports from various systems
7. Troubleshoot reporting environment issues
8. Evaluate system changes and updates
9. Train end-users on reports and dashboards
10. Provide expertise in data storage, mining, and cleansing

Your Skills & Experience

1. 3+ years of relevant work experience
2. Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
3. Experience with BI tools like Tableau and SQL Server Integration Services
4. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems innovatively
6. Eagerness to learn new tools and techniques

Annual salary range: $90,000 - $105,000. Compensation depends on knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
