Description

You are a Senior Project Accountant reporting to the Project Controller. Your responsibilities include accurate and timely data entry and reporting in the company's financial systems, managing accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment time entry, accounts payable, month-end closing, and key financial analysis. You will collaborate with management and project teams to ensure data accuracy and leverage it to improve business performance. • Cost reporting and strategic analysis
• Implement and manage effective Project Cost Controls
• Understand and communicate project contractual commercial terms
• Coordinate documentation for invoicing, including statutory declarations and WCB clearance letters
• Prepare and submit LEMs and third-party invoices
• Prepare monthly equipment rental billings and progress billings
• Process electronic billing and reconcile client billing systems
• Work with field teams and payroll to ensure timely time entry
• Identify potential change orders with Project Management
• Manage subcontractors and prepare month-end journal entries

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Post-secondary business degree
• Experience in commercial construction, Telecom, or related industry preferred
• Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP systems preferred
• Understanding of construction methods and accounting principles
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Conditions

• Hybrid work model : work from home with 1-2 days in the office per week
