Senior Project Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing real estate developer known for delivering high-quality projects and fostering strong investment partnerships. With a focus on innovation and excellence, this role offers hands-on experience in financial management, project oversight, and investor relations—ideal for professionals looking to advance their careers in real estate development.

Requirements :

• Support Senior Project Managers in managing equity and debt draws for project ownership entities, partnerships, and joint ventures, ensuring alignment with legal structures and coordinating with cost consultants and construction lenders.
• Engage and communicate with investment partners regarding accounting inquiries and financial statements.
• Conduct financial analysis of projects and operations to provide insights to the executive team, driving improvements and ensuring compliance with project objectives.
• Assist in compiling quarterly project reports for distribution to investors, partners, and lenders.
• Oversee and manage project invoice payables, ensuring consistency with contracts and adherence to proper payment procedures.
• Support project account reconciliations and collaborate with external accounting firms for year-end financial reporting.
• Review and prepare HST input tax credit filings for projects.
• Maintain schedules for reporting requirements, budgeting, and investor communications.
• Monitor project budgets and performance, providing monthly budget forecasts.
• Assist with accounts payable processes and approve construction-related invoices.

Qualifications :

• CPA designation (CA / CGA) or nearing completion.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Project Accountant.
• Background in real estate or experience working with a developer.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Thrives in a fast-paced setting, using sound judgment and practical decision-making.
• Highly organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively.
• Comfortable working independently with a high level of autonomy.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and commitment.
