A Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for clients and their families. They work in accordance with the standards of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and within a client-centered care model. This professional provides ongoing respiratory care to individuals with various respiratory conditions, including acute and chronic cardio-respiratory diseases, in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. They work independently or as part of a healthcare team, ensuring optimal care through consultation and collaboration with other professionals. Committed to continuous improvement, they employ best practices, enhance their clinical skills, and contribute to committees, teams, and research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.
