Senior Professional Database Administrator

If you are interested in joining an Information Technology team dedicated to finding solutions and providing the best user experience for students, faculty, and staff, while enjoying a collaborative environment, consider working for the client’s Outreach and Online Education Information Technology (OOE IT).

The Senior Database Administrator will be a creative, analytical, and innovative individual passionate about database administration and solutions.

This role involves collaboration with system administrators, developers, database administrators, quality analysts, solution architects, business analysts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality data products that meet organizational needs.

The candidate should have a solid understanding of database administration, design, and management, capable of performing quality control, transforming data via ETL processes, configuring cloud and on-prem environments, architecting data lakes, and working with team members to ensure high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities include maintaining existing data products, building out a data lake within Azure, and migrating data to the cloud. Familiarity with Azure database development and mentoring others in migration, pipeline development, testing, and source control within Azure is essential.

You will lead teams to identify, categorize, prioritize, and analyze data to plan cloud migration and develop architecture artifacts.

The role requires skills in:

• Human skills such as analytical thinking, creativity, innovation, communication, mentoring, and learning new technologies.
• SQL DBA skills including data migration, ETL tools, database principles, system installation, configuration, upgrade, and system integration.
• Project management skills like understanding business requirements, task management, progress reporting, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Technical expertise in developing data architecture diagrams, documenting architectures, root cause analysis, automation, monitoring, and setting standards for database security and integrity.

Additional responsibilities involve planning and implementing Data Lake ecosystems, applying new techniques to projects, and ensuring effective communication within and outside the organization.
