Job description

We are currently seeking a Service Writer for our Saskatoon Brandt Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for assisting the service manager in maintaining accurate and timely reports and records related to the Service Department’s operations. The role is scheduled for an evening shift from 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Handle internal and external customer inquiries directed to the Service Department.
  2. Open work orders as directed by the Service Manager / Shop Foreman and oversee their progress until closure and invoicing.
  3. Maintain the service library with current information, including files, bulletins, manuals, multimedia, etc., under the supervision of the Service Manager.
  4. Manage Service Department filing and records.
  5. Update customer profiles with information such as equipment, hours, or other details from work orders.
  6. Manage accessories and supplies, and prepare replacement orders.
  7. Process warranty and product improvement claims, including calculating charges, submitting claims, and following up.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of office procedures.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and technical terms is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices.
Required Experience
  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
