The salary range for this position is CAD $25.54 - $27.22 per hour.

We are currently seeking a Casual Health Unit Aide to join Public Health across multiple sites within the Fraser Health region.

Overview

Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Health Unit Aide supports Public Health Nurses by organizing immunization clinics, distributing supplies, maintaining biological supplies, conducting hearing and vision screenings, cleaning equipment, and performing clerical duties such as charting, data entry, and filing.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate hearing and vision screenings, record results, and make referrals.
  • Set up immunization clinics, monitor biological supplies, and ensure proper storage and transport.
  • Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment per procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for clinical use.
  • Support clinical activities like setting up rooms, weighing babies, and distributing supplies.
  • Perform administrative tasks including photocopying, scheduling, and data entry.
  • Transport supplies and maintain department resources.
  • Manage petty cash, and provide guidance to volunteers.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Grade 12, Medical Office Assistant Certificate, with one year of related experience or equivalent. Valid BC Class V Driver’s License and personal vehicle required.

Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, physical capability, independence and teamwork, equipment operation, rapport building, organization, data entry at 40 wpm, and knowledge of office procedures.
