This role is responsible for the Project Management of major EPC contracts. Furthermore, as our team grows, this role will include helping build and lead a team of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Study Managers, and Project Cost Control depending on the current work undertaken by the company. With a heavy emphasis on engineering support, management of contractors, and management of suppliers, this personnel management role revolves around the proper execution of studies, detailed engineering, and construction of projects handled by Primero Americas. This role requires technical and commercial knowledge, supervision skills, and involvement in determining priorities, meeting strict deadlines and budget demands while having the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. The person in this role will be interacting with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential to the role :

• Chemical, Process, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent experience;
• Commerce / Business Management Diploma;
• Membership in a Professional Engineering association, or equivalent experience;
• Training or seminars in project management and contract management, or relevant experience;
• Experience in project management of an EPC, EPCM or Design and Construction projects that were fully executed to commissioning phase;
• Experience in Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), or Feasibility Study (FS) management;
• Previous on-site work supervision and project management during construction and commissioning;
• 10+ years of experience in the mining or mineral processing industry;
• Mentoring and People Management Skills;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Planning, and project management tools such as MS Project or ideally Primavera P6;
• Contract management, procurement, and commercial understanding;

Additional Preferred Skillsets :

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Possess a high level of analytical ability used to solve complex problems;
• Possess a strong understanding of applicable codes; understanding of NI 43-101 is a plus;
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics, and other engineering drawings;
• Proficient in Windows XP, Microsoft Office including Outlook and in the use of scheduling tools – Primavera preferred, but at a minimum MS Project;
