Job summary

Prairie Land Public School Division is seeking Educational Assistants to support students in inclusive classroom environments at J.C. Charyk Hanna School in Hanna, Alberta.

Roles total up to 1.8 FTE with schedules determined by students' needs and successful applicants' availability. Responsibilities include assisting with educational, social, behavioral, communication, and physical needs, providing personal care as required, and working closely with teachers to promote learning and well-being

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Preference will be given to applicants with post‑secondary training in Special Education, Educational Assistant studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check satisfactory to PLRD is required prior to commencement.

Prairie Land School Division is seeking caring, dedicated, and flexible Educational Assistants to support students in inclusive classroom environments. We anticipate filling several positions totaling up to 1.8 FTE with individual FTE allocations and schedules determined based on successful applicants' availability along with the needs of the students and the school.

Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and school staff, successful candidates will provide student-focused support that promotes learning, independence, positive relationships, and overall well-being. Responsibilities may include providing personal care and supporting students with educational, social, behavioral, communication, and physical needs throughout the school day.

Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills are essential, as well as the ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, and adaptability in responding to student needs. Preference will be given to applicants with post‑secondary training in Special Education, Educational Assistant studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs and developmental disabilities is considered an asset.
