Qualifications

• Requires O.S.S.D. plus two years of specialized training (Educational Assistant Program, Child Youth Worker, Autism Support Worker or equivalent).
• Knowledge of Board policies on Physical Intervention, Discipline, Medication and/or Special Services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing and tracking instructional programs.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and equipment as directed.
• Assist students with hygienic and personal care.
• Administer medication as assigned per policy and regulations.
• Support therapy or behavioral programs as directed.
• Assist with IEPs, cooperative education and safety programs.
• Supervise in-school and out-of-school student activities.
• Participate in meetings such as IPRC when required.
• Assist with transportation loading/unloading as directed.
