Job summary

Red Deer Public Schools seeks an Educational Assistant to support students at Central Middle School in Red Deer. This temporary role covers a leave of absence and involves helping with classroom activities and student behaviour.

The successful candidate will assist students with various needs, may provide personal care support, and work collaboratively with staff to support a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or related training is an asset.
• Training or experience in behaviour management (e.g., non-violent crisis intervention, SIVA) preferred.
• Experience supporting students with complex behavioural needs in a school setting.
• Calm, patient, and able to respond effectively in high-needs or escalated situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and able to support a variety of classroom and school-based activities.
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs including lifting and toileting as required.
