Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division is seeking an Educational Assistant I for a temporary part-time role at Fort Qu'Appelle Elementary Community School. The position supports students with intensive needs across academics, personal care, and life skills, working with teachers and specialists to promote engagement and learning.

The assignment runs from ASAP until June 30, 2027, at Fort Qu'Appelle Elementary Community School.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma or in progress/preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED training.
• Specialized training in supporting students with differing abilities.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and Transfer/Lift/Repositioning training.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support for students as directed by teachers.
• Assist students to develop daily living and academic skills.
• Support learning with small group or 1:1 reinforcement and help with assignments.
• Document progress in the Inclusion and Intervention Plan and attend conferences.
• Promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with the student team to support learning in least restrictive setting.
• Perform duties as assigned by the School Administrator.

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent

Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma
