Job summary

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students in grades 1-6, working closely with teachers to implement programs and monitor progress.

The role requires a certificate or diploma in Educational Assistance and may require SMG training. Candidates should be able to assist with documentation, adapt learning activities, and maintain student safety and positive behaviour in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Support students' growth in cognition, communication, physical and social development.
• Assist with teacher-directed programming and use of adaptive technologies.
• Work collaboratively under guidance of teacher and multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or implement teacher directed programming.
• Complete student or safety documentation as directed by supervisor.
• Implement strategies from specialist teams (OT/PT/SLP) to reach goals.
• Apply Positive Behaviour Plan (PBP) when required.
• Provide supervision and assist in activities indoors and outdoors.
