Job summary

Our Lady of Sorrows School in Ontario, Canada, is hiring an Educational Assistant: Classroom Assistant/Physical Care on a 1.0 FTE temporary basis. The position starts immediately and runs until about November 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension within the board’s collective agreement guidelines.

The successful candidate will possess a two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, experience supporting students with diverse needs, strong teamwork, and expertise in behavior

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
• Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
• Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
• Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet).
• Excellent interpersonal skills; and
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Mandatory Requirements:
