We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students and teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment. You will collaborate with classroom staff and other professionals to assist students in their learning, participation, and overall development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to supporting diverse learner needs.
Key responsibilities include supporting students individually and in groups with classroom learning activities; reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher; assisting with independent work and monitoring progress; supervising students in the classroom, hallways, playground, and during arrival, dismissal, and school activities; supporting behavior management strategies; and assisting with observation, documentation, and reporting for meetings and conferences. You may also be required to assist with personal care needs.
This is a full-time temporary position (30 hours per week) starting as soon as possible for the duration of the 2025-2026 school year. Preference will be given to candidates with training in special education or a related field, and experience supporting individuals with special needs.
Minimum high school diploma required, with preference given to candidates who hold a post-secondary certificate or diploma in a human services field. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check satisfactory to PLRD prior to commencement.
