The role focuses on supporting students with disabilities and health or behavioural needs under the guidance of principals and teachers. The position requires Grade 12 with Capilano University Education Assistant Program, a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license, basic first aid knowledge, and familiarity with learning

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six months up to and including one year of related experience.
• A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid.
• Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Principal(s) and Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students with disabilities and/or health and behavioural needs to support program goals.
• Supervision of a designated area inside or outside the school, before/during/after school as defined by the assignment.
• This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.
