Job summary

School District 51 Boundary is seeking an Education Assistant for Beaverdell Elementary School, effective September 8, 2026. The role is four hours per day, four days per week, for ten months per year, supporting students with Special Education needs.

Qualified candidates hold a college diploma in Special Education or equivalent, with at least three months of relevant experience. Salary will follow the current CUPE Local 2098 collective agreement governing this position.

Applications for the position of "EDUCATION ASSISTANT” with School District No. 51 (Boundary), with assignment to Beaverdell Elementary School, effective September 8, 2026.

The position is four (4) hours per day, four (4) days per week, ten (10) months per year.

The Applicant Should Possess The Following Qualifications

• A College Diploma Program that supports Special Education students in the classroom, or equivalent, as recognized by School District No. 51.
• A minimum of three months of current and demonstrated successful experience/training working with Special Education students.

Note

Applicants may be considered if they:

• have equivalent successful work experience in K-12 schools as a Special Education Assistant;
• are currently enrolled in a Special Education Assistant diploma program;
• have a diploma/degree that includes course work in human behavior.

The salary for this position will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement presently in effect between the Board and C.U.P.E. Local 2098.
