Position: Education & Conservation Coordinator (Full Time)

Location: Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Reports to: Manager of Education and Conservation

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Manager of Education and Conservation, the Education Coordinator is the primary contact for all inquiries into the Education department and handles the sales and coordination of all Education Department offerings. The role involves providing exemplary customer service to parents, teachers, and guests to promote bookings and experiences.

Note: Due to the nature of our business, we operate 365 days a year, including holidays. You will be expected to work any shift during, before, or after these hours.

Critical Accountabilities
  1. Communicate clearly with diverse audiences via in-person, phone, and email to address operational questions courteously.
  2. Coordinate school group scheduling, confirmation, payment, and check-in processes.
  3. Serve as the onsite contact for teachers arriving for booked programs.
  4. Support administration tasks, including POS processing, bookings, payments, and receipts, responsibly using POS terminals.
  5. Assist with bookings for sleepover groups, experience guests, and homeschool families, and address guest concerns.
  6. Support the Education staff coordination with the Manager and Supervisor.
  7. Stay informed about all Aquarium activities, including programs, exhibits, and events, and be knowledgeable about details such as dates, times, costs, and registration processes.
  8. Maintain organized Education department files, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive information.
  9. Contribute to developing new, marketable, and profitable programs for various audiences.
  10. Provide logistical support, including preparing reports, attendance, and evaluations; resolve problems independently when possible.
  11. Assist with daily operations, such as school groups and camp programs.
Special Skills and Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in Education or a related field is preferred.
  2. Excellent communication skills; able to maintain composure under pressure.
  3. Strong organizational and financial management skills.
  4. At least two years of experience in customer service or sales roles exceeding expectations is preferred.
  5. Passion for animals, the environment, and people.
  6. Creative problem-solving skills.
  7. Exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Siriusware or similar ticketing systems is a plus.
