Job summary

Shanghai Construction Group Canada Corp. is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead daily field operations for a project in the Edmonton area. You will supervise crews, organize construction sequencing, coordinate equipment and subcontractors, and ensure safety compliance on site.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of construction supervision experience, with knowledge of safety practices and Alberta OHS requirements. Travel between project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience delivering Superintendent tasks across project phases.
• Experience in tunneling or underground projects is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of sequencing, manpower planning, equipment coordination.
• Knowledge of Alberta OHS requirements and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily site activities to progress according to plans and schedules.
• Organize construction sequencing and coordinate field operations for productivity.
• Monitor progress, identify challenges, and implement solutions with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate equipment mobilization, deliveries, site access, and subcontractors.
• Supervise foremen and crews with clear instructions and priorities.
• Maintain communication between field crews and project management.
• Track progress, use of manpower, equipment, and quality, addressing issues promptly.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Alberta OHS requirements.
• Identify hazards with Site Safety Advisor and support safety plans.
