Job summary

Harvard Developments in Edmonton is seeking a qualified Building Operator to join its facility maintenance team. The role focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience while ensuring properties are well maintained and compliant with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include operating building automation and safety systems, responding to service requests, supervising contracted services such as cleaning, security, HVAC, and grounds, carrying out planned maintenance,

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service focus and willingness to respond 24/7 when scheduled on-call.
• Valid 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate and a driver’s license required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and capability to perform physical tasks.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate building automation, fire life safety, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Respond to customer service requests within safety and quality standards.
• Oversee contracted services (cleaning, security, HVAC, grounds, snow removal).
• Carry out planned maintenance for the properties.
• Travel to remote facilities about one week per month for inspections and coordination.
