Job summary

MDPI Canada in Toronto is seeking an entry-level Assistant Editor to support the editorial workflow for academic journals. This full-time in-office role offers training and exposure to the scholarly publishing process.

Recent graduates with a Master’s degree (and PhD as asset) who have published in peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply. Compensation ranges with a benefits package; Ontario-based, Canada-wide collaboration expected.

Qualifications

• Experience publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals is required.
• Master's degree in a relevant field (Animal Biosciences, Wildlife Biology, Animal & Poultry Science, Veterinary Science, Animal Nutrition).
• PhD in one of the above fields is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the editorial process for academic journals in your domain.
• Organize the peer review process and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Handle email communication between parties involved in publication.
• Collaborate with editorial and production teams.
• Ensure scholarly articles are edited and published on tight deadlines.
