What will you do in this job?: The Sous Chef leads and inspires the kitchen team while supervising food preparation and coordinating daily kitchen tasks under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. Responsibilities include leading and training kitchen staff, working hands-on with culinary team, supervising food prep and presentation, managing inventory and budgets, ensuring health and safety compliance, overseeing catering events, assisting with staffing and performance reviews, managing costs, and maintaining quality standards. The role requires flexibility, guest interaction, and working in various locations.
Skills and experience required: Journeyman's Red Seal or equivalent, 3-5 years management in high-volume food service, experience in demonstration cooking, menu development, and costing, strong background in high-volume kitchens, ability to manage diverse teams, knowledge of HACCP standards, cost control skills, computer literacy, organizational skills, and adherence to grooming policies. First-aid certification is an asset.
