Job summary

Town of Innisfil is seeking an enthusiastic Economic Development Champion, BRED (1-Year Contract) to drive the Innisfil Heights BRED initiative. You will connect with businesses, coordinate projects, identify opportunities and position Innisfil Heights for growth.

This role builds relationships with community partners, supports business retention and diversification, and provides strategic input to the Economic Development Manager based on trend analysis.

Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, planning, economics, environmental studies or economic development.
• Ec.D. designation and Economic Developers Association of Canada membership are assets.
• 3–5 years of related experience in a fast-paced environment; municipal experience is an asset.
• Class G driver’s license and reliable vehicle for corporate use.
• Evening and/or weekend availability to attend meetings and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Business Retention, Expansion and Diversification activities.
• Coordinate economic studies; gather data, prepare agendas, present reports and proposals.
• Develop program materials and support the Community Improvement Plan.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Act as a resource and advocate to organize funding and support community objectives.
• Provide strategic planning or policy development input to the Economic Development Manager.

Education

University degree in Business Administration / Planning / Economics / Environmental Studies / Economic Development or related discipline

Ec.D. designation (asset) and EDC of Canada membership (asset)
