Job summary

Rocky View County seeks an Economic Development Officer to support its Economic Development Strategy and priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Intergovernmental Services & Economic Development, you will lead investment attraction programs, coordinate projects, and analyze economic data for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five (5) years in a similar role; equivalent combination may be considered.
• Knowledge of economic development, investment attraction, and stakeholder relations.
• Experience with community engagement, public consultation, and municipal government is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and report writing.
• Understanding of local economic trends affecting retail, hospitality, and real estate sectors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with potential businesses considering investment in Rocky View County.
• Coordinate investment meetings and prepare reports for external investors and stakeholders.
• Support business retention, expansion, and engagement with the business community.
• Develop and maintain databases and provide timely reporting to a high standard.
• Collaborate with Communications to create digital content and marketing materials.
• Administer administrative tasks including prioritization and deadlines.
