Job summary

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) seeks an Economic Development Officer (BRE) for a full-time fixed-term contract to advance business retention, expansion, and rural engagement in Lambton County. You will engage with businesses, municipalities, and partners to identify growth opportunities, challenges, workforce needs, and to strengthen support services.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Economic Development, Business, Public Administration, Commerce, Planning, or a related field.
• Three or more years of experience in economic development, business development, stakeholder engagement, or project coordination.
• Experience conducting interviews, consultations, surveys, or community engagement activities is an asset.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead business engagement initiatives to identify opportunities, challenges, and growth priorities among Sarnia-Lambton businesses.
• Analyze findings, prepare reports, and connect businesses with programs, services, and resources.
• Develop and implement a BR&E framework and action plan to guide outreach and relationships.
• Represent SLEP in stakeholder activities and develop content for collaborative teams.
