Job summary

BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions in Calgary seeks a reliable cleaner to join our operations. You will perform zone cleaning with a focus on quality, safety and client satisfaction, operating equipment and following procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and maintenance in institutional environments.
• Experience using floor maintenance machines and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS.
• Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items and climb ladders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff, clients and the public.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, shifts, and multiple locations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Operate floor maintenance machines and scrubbers as needed.
• Transport garbage and supplies between points; assist with waste disposal.
• Clean washrooms, stairs, and glass areas; report repairs as required.
• Follow safety procedures to protect floors and fixtures; maintain records.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; steam clean carpets when required.
