Job summary

BGIS is seeking a dedicated cleaning professional to join our Sustainable Cleaning Solutions team in Richmond, BC. The role emphasizes quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations across multiple locations.

You will perform floor care, general cleaning, and maintenance tasks using common cleaning equipment, with opportunities to contribute to a safer, greener workplace. This regular, part-time or full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage from $17.85 to $21.00

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in institutional environments.
• Experience with floor maintenance machines and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and health & safety provisions.
• Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items and climb ladders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, clients and the public.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and shifts across locations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dry/wet mop and polish hard floors.
• Strip and finish hard surface floors.
• Transport garbage from drop points to bins/compactor.
• Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites.
• Clean and store equipment and machinery.
• Clean glass areas requiring ladders or scaffolding.
• Clean washroom floors and stairs/elevator cabs.
• Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment.
