Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in institutional settings.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and WHMIS.
• Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items and climb ladders.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain records.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and shifts across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dry/wet mop and polish hard surface floors; use handheld or auto scrubbers.
• Strip and finish floors manually or with power equipment.
• Clean washrooms and stairs, and maintain cleanliness of equipment and areas.
• Transport garbage and supplies between drop points and sites.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify managers concerning major repairs or building system needs.
• Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; steam clean or shampoo carpets.
• Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas.
