Job summary

Scarborough Health Network is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform diagnostic cardiac imaging and support physicians across three sites. The role includes Saturday shifts and coverage for full-time colleagues, with rotations among General, Birchmount, and Centenary sites.

Requirements include Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, ARDMS, BCLS, and at least one year of clinical experience, including TEE and Doppler techniques. SHN emphasizes safety, inclusion, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with current credentials.
• ARDMS certification and BCLS validity.
• Minimum one year clinical experience; familiarity with TEE.
• Experience with Doppler techniques, incl. Dobutamine Stress.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to SHN safety policies and continuous education.
• Membership in cardiology technologist associations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic testing and assist physicians in cardiac diagnoses.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, the Echocardiographer will provide diagnostic testing and assist physicians in the diagnosis of patients with cardiac and associated disorders. This position will work Saturdays and provide vacation coverage for full time staff. This position involves rotating between General Site, Birchmount Site, and Centenary Site.

Requirements

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
• ARDMS certification
• Current certification in BCLS
• Minimum of one year clinical experience
• Clinical experience with TEE
• Experienced in Doppler techniques including Dobutamine Stress
• Ability to work independently in fast paced, team setting

• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
