Job Summary

A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Department Manager and working closely with the Undergraduate Program Team Lead, the Program Assistant manages daily administration of undergraduate course offerings, including course updates via the Learning Management System (onQ), coordinating exams, and posting grades to Solus. The role involves advising students, assisting with registration, and referring students to university resources.

Job Description

What you will do

  • Serve as the first contact for students; advise on academic progress, program planning, course selection, transfer credits, and degree requirements.
  • Assist with pre-registration, registration, and admission applications.
  • Support students facing academic challenges and refer them to appropriate resources.
  • Handle conflicts, provide guidance on policies, and verify graduation eligibility.
  • Organize events like receptions, orientations, and information sessions.
  • Advise staff and faculty on academic policies.
  • Coordinate submission of final grades and exam logistics.
  • Support committee activities and provide administrative support.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Education

  • Two-Year Community College Diploma.

Required Experience

  • More than 2 up to 3 years of experience, preferably in post-secondary education.

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Job Knowledge and Requirements

  • Practical knowledge of administrative and technical methods.
  • Ability to interpret and explain information.
