Position Overview:

The Finance Department seeks an Accountant/Financial Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting and Analysis. The role involves supporting controllership functions, completing full-cycle accounting, financial analyses, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation and configuration of a new payroll system, including data migration, testing, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with HR to enhance payroll functionalities and efficiencies.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with tax laws and policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Support audit activities by preparing reports and schedules.
  • Work with IT on asset management and system reconciliations.
  • Provide financial support for operations, employee matters, and projects, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Manage contracts and purchase orders, overseeing the Procure-to-Pay cycle.
  • Support financial system administration and initiatives.
  • Assist in process improvements to enhance operations and reporting.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or related; CPA (final or in progress) or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years relevant full-cycle accounting and finance experience.
  • Payroll expertise, especially with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and auditing standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven, and improvement-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, assess risks, and support business decisions.

The candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and pass a criminal background check.
