What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Workplace Strategy & Insights within the Group Products & Strategy team as part of Personal Savings and Investments, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in developing advanced data visualizations and analytics. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate business risks. The primary responsibility is leveraging analytical and technical skills to enhance business decisions through data-driven insights. Responsibilities include designing, building, and analyzing large datasets for business purposes, creating visualizations for reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

What will you do?

Data Reporting and Analysis

  • Design, build, and implement visually appealing and intuitive Tableau dashboards and/or advanced Excel reports, including complex data, serving as self-serve sources of information and supporting analytical insights for data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and operationalize dashboards used by sales, role, and business stakeholders, including sponsor, member, and product data.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights using various analytical methods and translate them into prescriptive outputs.

Risk and Compliance

  • Utilize data to support issues and risk findings, developing insights that inform strategies and risk assessments.
  • Perform detailed analysis of large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicating risks or inefficiencies.
  • Ensure data practices comply with internal policies and external regulations like DPR, SOX, etc., and that all team functions adhere to risk-conscious procedures, audit controls, and information security standards.

Ad hoc Data Support

  • Provide ad hoc data development and analysis support based on internal stakeholder requests.
  • Complete these requests by delivering data and analysis following best practices.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Finance, Group Advantage National Office, CXDI, DABI, and other PBI data teams as a subject-matter expert on data visualization and analytics.
  • Recommend analytics solutions and foster a positive internal client experience.
  • Work with internal data partners to incorporate enterprise best practices into your work.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced proficiency in business analytics, including Excel expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau Desktop, MS Excel, Python, SQL (or similar), and dashboard methodologies
  • Strong understanding of analytical methods (exploratory, descriptive, predictive)
  • Proficiency in manipulating large datasets
  • Proactive problem-solving skills for data and dashboard issues
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate client needs

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the Group Retirement Market and products
  • Proficiency in creating compelling presentations
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Understanding of Risk Management concepts and processes
  • Data Engineering/Data Science certification or Business Analysis training
