Key Responsibilities

As a freelance business analyst, you can expect to:

  • Work directly on client and/or internal engagements across multiple project types, creating deliverables and leading business analysis activities in support of engagement leaders
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with client objectives and BLG Beyond’s consulting standards
  • Evaluate current-state processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and develop recommendations for future-state design and implementation
  • Lead the elicitation and validation of business and functional requirements from stakeholders across different levels of the organization
  • Support and coordinate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and meetings to capture insights and drive consensus
  • Analyze and communicate critical business challenges, root causes, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, clients, and cross-functional teams to develop solution options and implementation plans
  • Draft high-quality deliverables such as process maps, gap analyses, stakeholder reports, and key project communications
  • Participate in testing efforts, including UAT planning, execution, and validation of business needs
  • Support change management, documentation updates, and implementation activities to ensure lasting adoption and value realization
  • Identify and manage risks related to requirements, scope, or business alignment

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of business analyst experience. Consulting experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to quickly investigate, analyze, document, and provide recommendations to improve business processes
  • Experience delivering business transformation projects in professional services, legal, or related industries preferred
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis tools, methodologies, and frameworks
  • PMI, Prosci, CAPM, CBAP and/or PBA certifications are considered assets
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely, with a high level of self-motivation and accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on relationship building and stakeholder engagement
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Tech-savvy with solid experience in Visio and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • A “can do” attitude and willingness to flex between strategic and tactical work
  • Remote work capability with a professional home office setup and high-speed internet
