Role Overview

As a Level Design Director, you will craft the vision for stealth-centric missions in Splinter Cell, translating high-level concepts into engaging gameplay experiences that challenge and surprise players, embodying the fantasy of being the ultimate covert agent, Sam Fisher.

You will mentor your team, breaking down your vision into actionable rules and providing feedback to develop rich stealth gameplay challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and communicate the level design vision for the game
  • Collaborate with the core team to ensure cohesion across all game aspects
  • Create examples of gameplay setups that are unique to Splinter Cell
  • Apply deep knowledge in level building, narrative, lighting, pacing, scripting, and puzzles
  • Support level designers within game metrics constraints
  • Review and guide design proposals from the team
  • Ensure engaging level progression through rational design principles
  • Balance input from art, narrative, animation, and audio disciplines
  • Mentor and give constructive feedback to your team
  • Address challenges with solutions aligned to the game's vision, recognizing the importance of strong level design

What You Bring

  • Diploma in Game Design or related field (undergraduate degree preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years in the video game industry or relevant experience, with at least 3 years in leadership
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of level design and game development stages
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
