Job Description

We are looking for a RIBO licensed personal lines underwriter to evaluate applicants for insurance and recommend the appropriate action to take on that level of risk. You will work closely with the Producers who have direct access to the clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze applicants' data
2. Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing
3. Identify and obtain additional information required to conduct a proper analysis of risk
4. Keep up on industry knowledge (Products and Software)
5. Evaluate software-based recommendations
6. Research applicants as necessary
7. Authorize transmittal of documents to brokers and markets as required
8. Prepare and maintain periodic reports pertinent to the ongoing operation
9. Provide advice and expertise on underwriting issues
10. Backup reception as necessary

Qualifications:

• RIBO License
• 1+ years underwriting experience
• Superior verbal and written skills

• Professional telephone manner
• Develops and maintains productive working relationships with peers, clients, and industry networks

• Powerbroker and Compu-Quote experience is an asset but not required
