Job description

General Dynamics Mission Systems Canada is looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our A&N Sonar team. In this role, you'll lead systems engineering efforts that can span from System Design Requirements Analysis and System Integration Verification & Validation (SI V&V) activities. You will work closely with program and engineering teams, Subject Matter Experts, and customers. Additionally, you will collaborate with leadership to align project needs and drive technical excellence.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, document, and review system designs and use cases, define system interfaces, and conduct analyses.
  2. Lead System Integration activities, including test plans, test cases, procedures, and methods for system verification.
  3. Prepare requirements documents and specifications.
  4. Problem solve to understand the cause and effect in complex systems.
  5. Review technical documentation and provide analysis.
  6. Investigate system defects and raise problem reports.
  7. Develop Integration and Test Plans and Procedures, including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes.
  8. Build, configure, and validate test environments.
  9. Lead planning and coordination of test activities.
  10. Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather measures and data, analyze and interpret test data, and prepare test reports.
  11. Identify, investigate, and document defects and verify solutions.
  12. Manage requirement mapping to automated and manual test cases.
  13. Develop and maintain automated test tools and scripts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience in requirements development and system design.
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools and systems engineering processes.
  • Supporting system integration and verification.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct analysis leading to sound conclusions.
  • An enthusiastic contributor willing to learn, take pride, and ownership of work.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
