AbbVie Canada is seeking an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team. Preferably based in Toronto Center or the GTA, covering Toronto Center and Ontario West. The role focuses on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed business goals.
  • Create pre-call plans and evaluate post-call outcomes to improve sales effectiveness. Handle objections and concerns logically to close sales.
  • Support key stakeholders' needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and partnerships.
  • Execute regional account plans to achieve metrics and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, patient journey, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise. Share intelligence with team members to align and adapt strategies.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role with a strong clinical background in the pharmaceutical industry. Oncology experience is required; Solid Tumors experience is preferred.
  • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology and the Canadian Oncology sector.
  • Experience in physician/account-based selling, medical, managed health care, or marketing preferred.
  • Key account management skills.
  • Proven sales success and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior.
  • Recognized as an expert in oncology products and competitive landscape.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Innovative thinking to maximize opportunities and respond to challenges.
  • Respected role model and collaborator among peers.
  • Leadership and support experience with increased responsibilities.
  • Ability to leverage findings for sales strategies.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with technology and various tools/systems.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel overnight (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

  • Strategic thinking for territory and account planning.
  • Sound business judgment and leadership mindset.
  • In-depth analytical skills for data assessment and decision-making.
