AbbVie Canada is hiring an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team. Preferably based in Toronto Center or the GTA, covering Toronto Center and Ontario West. The role focuses on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

Our Oncology Therapeutic Specialists develop robust business plans to execute brand strategies and tactics, deliver sales performance, and build strong customer relationships. They support customer needs to maximize sales, prioritize patient-centered efforts, and operate within AbbVie's policies and legal standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or surpass business goals.
  • Create pre-call plans and evaluate post-call outcomes to improve sales effectiveness. Handle objections logically and rationally to close sales.
  • Support key stakeholders' needs and expectations to build trusted relationships continuously.
  • Implement regional account plans to meet metrics and optimize customer coverage, maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Deepen understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, patient journey, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, and products. Share insights with team members to align strategies and adapt to environmental changes.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry, with oncology experience required and solid tumors experience preferred.
  • In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology, particularly within the Canadian sector.
  • Experience in physician/account-based selling, medical education, or marketing is preferred.
  • Strong key account management skills and proven sales success.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior.
  • Recognized expertise in oncology products and competitive landscape.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and proficiency with business tools.
  • Effective in a matrix environment and innovative in maximizing business opportunities.
  • Respected among peers, with leadership experience and success in support roles.
  • Ability to leverage findings for sales strategy development.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with technology and various tools.
  • Availability for evening/weekend work and overnight travel (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Key in-field team competencies:

  • Strategic thinking for territory and account planning.
  • Sound business judgment with an executive mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills for data assessment and decision-making.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for team development.
