Work Arrangements :

You will work from your home office 100% of the time. Occasional in-person presence may be required at our Waterloo, ON office or another location within the Waterloo Region, and travel may be necessary for sales-related roles.

The Opportunity :

What you will be doing :
  • Learning and applying critical thinking in underwriting, including medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team to provide a superior client experience.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, consumer regulations, and reinsurance treaties related to privacy, disclosure, and risk classification.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of underwriting practices and procedures.
  • Building internal and external relationships to deliver a first-class experience.
What you will bring :
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset; bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese is also an asset.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a health or medical field.
  • Knowledge of Individual Life and Health products; previous underwriting experience is a plus.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, client-focused relationship skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and industry knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
