We’re looking for an Underwriter, Community Services (junior, intermediate or senior level based on your experience) to join our growing team at Intact Public Entities!
What you’ll do here:
Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies
Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements
Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals
Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations
As directed, generate letters and memos to brokers from the system
What you bring to the table:
University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
1-3 years of P&C underwriting experience
Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation either completed or in progress is an asset
Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard
Demonstrates initiative and strong ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Exemplary and proactive customer service skills to identify needs, effectively negotiate, and provide tailored solutions to brokers
Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills
Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry
Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
