Shift: 7.5 hour

Shift Start: 7:30, 8:00 (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Work Location: King Campus (Stoney Creek East Hamilton)

Position Description

Position Summary: This position provides administrative and reception support for the day-to-day operations of the Eye Clinic at the Centre for Ambulatory Health Services. All patient-related details and departmental activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of all services in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate in medical office administration or equivalent education and experience
  • Medical terminology certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years clerical experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience supporting a busy and diverse clinical service
  • Basic MS Excel skills
  • Intermediate medical terminology, spelling, and typing skills
  • Clerical testing may be required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in HBO patient information system, including order entry and transcribing orders
  • Computer literacy in Windows and Outlook
  • Experience with Patient Scheduling System
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and work autonomously
  • Tact and diplomacy in interactions with health professionals, patients, and families
  • Good attendance and work performance
  • Completion of orientation as required

Wage Rate: Hourly: $28.87 - $30.14 - $31.37 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
