Work Arrangements :

You will work from your home office 100% of the time. You may need to be in-person at our Waterloo, ON office or another location within the Waterloo Region on an as-needed basis. Sales roles may require travel based on assignments.

The Opportunity :

Equitable is growing! We are seeking Underwriters to join our Individual Insurance team. The Intermediate Underwriter plays a key role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products. What you will be doing :
  • Apply comprehensive underwriting expertise across medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • Manage daily work volumes independently to meet service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, consumer regulations, and reinsurance treaties related to privacy, disclosure, and risk classification.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in underwriting processes and procedures.

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities.
