Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic

Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas

Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers where they can naturally learn and develop.

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant / toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social / emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents / guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • May be able to count years of experience working with children in place of Bachelor's degree.
  • Some coursework in Early Childhood education or Human Development is highly desired
  • One year experience working with infants or young children and their parents / guardians
  • if candidate has Bachelor's degree experience may not be required
  • Valid CA driver’s license in good standing; also must have been licensed driver for at least one year (in any US state)
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do
  • Flexible availability including some evenings and weekend times as needed (need to be available generally when the parents / guardians are available so could be during the day, in the evening, or on a weekend day)
  • Willing and able to drive to homes of program participants; working environment is in-home setting with the children and their parents / guardians
