Description

The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Hamilton/SOTA I Elementary School beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Projected Start Date: August 12, 2025.

Position Details

  • Start Date: 8/12/2025
  • Salary/Wage: Per negotiated contract
  • Appointment Type: Full Time

Qualifications

  • Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required. Multiple certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with autism and EBD programming is preferred.
  • Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
  • Experience in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students.
  • Experience working with a team of regular and special educators.
  • Experience with developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Skills in using assistive and adaptive technology.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Ability to work as part of the IEP team.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction of students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities, including team teaching.
  • Management of student programs, including behavior plans, assessments, writing and implementing IEPs, and consulting with staff and parents.
  • Completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen before employment.
